Yeah I thought the boat and building behind it with the green door and printed words along it would be a good focal point

Nothing wrong with the lens, work with what you have and pick up a second hand zoom when you have the cash

Thanks Noely F for the advice :D

Thanks Noely F, they are some of the best from a couple hundred  was experimenting as I went. It was the first time in a long time that I had time to pick up the camera. I have some better composed shots IMO but exposure was all wrong :( Hopefully I can upgrade to a better lens when I can afford it

    Thanks phillip for your comment.

I never really saw the power lines until you mentioned them, I was more worried about the sky being so bright compared to the land.

Thanks wirepic for your comments, I agree about getting closer, then there is the added problem of having the fence in each shot. Unfortunately I don’t have the funds either for a new lens, but hopefully I will before the next GP.

Regarding your comment on pic #1 the idea was to have the Ferrari and the Shell logo together, but I take your point there is a lot of track around the car. :D

Thanks again for your comments :)

Thanks aoluain for that clever tip about the lining pictures up with a building so it will be straight. I would never have thought about it.

    Hey John,

Sorry about the confusion, I seem to have messed everything up. But I’ll get the hang of it (I hope).

Thanks for your feedback too :D

Thanks for the tip. If you want it you should go for it, I was looking at the spec and it is not fully compatible with the d40x won’t autofocus :?
