Welcome to PI Aoife hope you enjoy the site. This is a great place to learn and progress as an amateur or professional photographer…and its a bit of craic !
Welcome to PI code187,
There are many beginners to photography on this forum I being one of them. Dont worry theres a few of us in the same boat. We all have to start somewhere. Good luck and enjoy it :D
I agree Rasmith I did’nt think about the composition I was a bit trigger happy ! Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I can take it on board for future outings.
What about buying secondhand ? Have a look in the used equipment thread. There is a nikon d40 there with two lenses. Not sure if it is sold or not. Its worth having a look at..
Its definately not a Thrush. I dont think its a Dunnock either. The Dunnocks bill is supposed to be black as far as I know. The beak on the bird in the picture looks like its not black.
I live in Dublin so there is plenty of options to shoot a wide range of landscapes. Cant wait to actually get going and get some shots taken. I think you have a good point about buying gear you will not use. I suppose its easy to get trapped into thinking you need all these extras to take good shots.I think I’ll just concentrate on getting some shots taken and down the road I’ll take Willems advice on board if I decide to purchase some filters. Thanks again.
Thanks Willem, thats a great help to me.It clears a few questions I had in my head. I am hoping to get a chance to shoot some seashore hopefully maybe at sunrise. I will hopefully get other chances to shoot inland mountain shots. I’m a beginner so i suppose im open to trying everything! What landscapes would you suggest I begin with?
