Hi Ryan, great to see you back on PI. You have been doing some great work with the camera since you went back to Canada. I think this shot is amazing, the light is great… WOW. Well done. All the best, John.
Called in to Mike Browns shop in Clonakilty on Monday – WOW some great Photography. Also seen some of his shots at the exhibition in the Cork Vision Centre. Amazing stuff.
John.
Great shot Robbie, I likes it. Great sky, nice shade of Gold on the Wheat, I like the green in the bottem right, adds a bit of contrast. Touch of rolling hills through the field adds interest… good stuff…
I like this type of Post Processing on a black and white, I have seen it before and wondered, how did they do that. Any chance of giving a rundown on how you did it.. ?
I like it, good DOF, Eyes sharp… If I produced this I would call it a keeper !!
Oh I think this is a great shot, I like the way the hat seems to fade into the backround, and you can see the reflection of the lights on his face. He looks like a seasoned rocker…. Maybe he is a country singer ?? Anyway great Shot. John.
Ali thanks for the comments. It is great to get the feedback. This one was from a bundle of shots I took messing around with the Nikon 50MM 1.8 Lens I got recently.
Hi, You seem to like the B&W. I like casual appearance and expression of the guy in the photo. I am no expert, but the comments I would have for you on this is as follows: Crop tighter, clip off the empty space above the guys head. Also, the image is a bit over exposed, the white stripes in the guys shirt are a bit to bright. Thats Just my 2c. worth, keep posting and reading other peoples posts, you will be amazed how much you will pick up.
Hi,
Looks great to me as you say except for the nose shadow. Would love to see what it would have turned out like with the sheet of white paper held in position just out of shot to the subjects right, I would say it would look class. The sky looks great also. I have been having a look at the strobist website also and would love to give this a go. Where did you buy the flash and radio triggers.
Lads, Thanks for the reply. I had originally been thinking of the 18 to 200 mm and have saved up my few ? with a view to buying this. I am on the point of buying now and was having a look at all of the options.
Not having to have two lenses to cover the full range from 18 to 200 is indeed a huge advantage. I must have a look into the possibility of trading in my 18 to 55 mm.
Thanks for the advise,
Regards,
John.
I like the colours and pattern in the sand. Also like the poles leaning off to one side in the top right and their reflection in the wet sand. unusual.
John
These are great shots, well done. Maybe a little more saturation on No.2? I have been thinking of getting that 50mm F1.8 for a while. Sharpness and DOF is great !.
Best of luck with the trip, I am sure you will have endless fun shooting your travels.
I have been to Canada twice, (both in summer) around Toronto, Guelph, Eden Mills and of course the falls , loved it. I am sure you will still check back in on PI from time to time.
Best of Luck,
John.
