I like these, but of the 2 the 2nd is my favourite….. the lead in road makes it for me.

That is excellent – very well processed and I personally have not seen one like this before.

    Great title!
Nice shot, although I would crop out the handbag as IMO is doesn’t really add to the overall image but due to the brightness of it, it does attract attention.

I like this – but I would prefer it if there was a little more detail on the figure as the main point of interest.

I have come back to this shot a few times. I really like it. What makes it interesting for me is the way her profile matches the massive toy in the background. Plays on scale and way they line up really works. Her dark hair also works agains such a strong and dominant background colour.

If she had of turned to look I personally do not think that it would have been as successful.

It was arranged with Tim Cully who has a ‘studio’ in Islandmagee. It was a half day session which included model, his tution and studio. Well worth it and definitely something I would do again.

These are very good. I agree that no.3 stands out but personally I prefer 5 and 7 – not as romantic/”touchy feely” as 3, but I just like the pose in 4 and the composition of 7. Unless this is a blind gift from you, at the end of the day I assume that the couple will choose one anyway. Have they seen them and do they have a preference?

Jim Lee also made a good point about the ring…. I am sure it doesn’t matter much, but still…..

    Thanks for the comments.

I see what you mean about the hairs being highlighted. I sort of like them as they were there when I took the shot and I feel that this is processed way too much as it stands. The lighting was very simple with two softboxes directly front and rear of Nicole.

In terms of the blue – I sort of like the contrast feel it gives. I have other shots with white, grey and yellow/green gels but the blue stood out more for me against her dark skin. I might try changing it post processing and see what comes out.

    Kieran.

I really like this. I agree with both comments (the composition, grafitti etc and the heavy processing), however just ignoring the analysis and looking at the shot I think this is excellent.

Thanks for the comments. It is good to see other peoples thoughts on the picture and the leg is something that never bothered me before – but noew that you draw my attention to it I can see what you mean.

    Thanks.

For a shot cropped this close the eyes really have to be sharp. The direct stare in this is very engaging but it could do with being a bit sharper.
