It was a great day alright. I was really suprised with the track though. It’s a lot bigger than I was expecting with lots of nice tight turns and some wider sweeping bends, perfect for drifting, and just as good for shooting it!

Some really nice shots there. I’ve had a look at whole album in Flickr too, great work!

Hope you don’t mind, but I’ve just posted a link to your album on the Enduro.ie forums. That’s where the guys who do the racing hang out and they’re always looking to see pics of their events, and yours are too good for them not to see. This is a link to my post:

I badly over-processed the 1st version of this image. Below is my 2nd attemt and, hopefully, it’s a bit better.
Struggling quite a bit with the post processing.

    Hi Dee,

As Jenny suggested, you could try reducing the dof by using a wide aperture.
You could also try looking for alternative angles to shot from, try getting down low perhaps? Below is an example of what I mean.

    Hope this helps.

The adapter is really two pieces that screw together, a T Ring and a T Adapter.

The T ring is specific to your type of camera, I got the Nikon one as I have a Nikon D80.

The T adapter is specific to your telescope. If your telescope takes 1.25″ eye pieces, then you get a 1.25″ T Adapter.

Just screw the two pieces together, then one end goes into your DSLR in place of a lens, and the other goes into the ‘scope in place of the eye piece….. simple!

The two pieces together only cost me €28, including delivery charges, from http://www.telescopehouse.com. They also take PayPal so payment is handy too.

    Hope this helps.

Nice shot. You caught some nice crater detail along the terminator.
This shot was handheld?…… Wow, wish my hands were as steady as yours.

    Thanks Joey!

It’s a modest set. The telescope is Bresser Skylux 70mm refractor that I bought in Lidl a few years back (for €70) but never got much use. It’s 700mm long with with a 70mm aperture which makes it a very basic 700mm F10 lens. Manual focus and no auto-exposure, attached via an adapter directly to the front end of my Nikon D80, on manual. Exposure was about 1/50th sec.

great colour in this shot… helps make it!

It’s shots like these that bring photography back to simplicity as sometimes we get too wrapped up in staged portraits or getting the perfect landscape shot etc etc

    Well done :)

    Wot he said! :D

Some really class shots there, well done.
That last one though, is an absolute cracker. You can really see that he has his eye squarely on the ball.

Beautiful picture of a beautiful moment. I really wish it was mine!

Not sure if all the empty space on the left is adding anything to it though. Other than that, I can’t fault it.

Nice one, but you need to rid of the red-eye!

I have a question on the third shot though. Was the depth of field / out of focus background done in photoshop? It’s just that while the bike and rider are perfectly focused, the road directly beneath him isn’t and it looks a little unnatural.
