Thanks for the explanation on the border… got a copy of photoshop…. holy god I’ll never get my head around it!!! These instructions have really helped though, thank you!

Hey don’t know if you’re still looking for somewhere to print off your photos (maybe you’ve sorted out your printer!) but I printed my first shots with Jessops and the quality was spectacular. On the other hand I also got (very very cheap) photos printed with aldi online, and it was super cheap. Not the best standard but great if you had loads you wanted printed.

Thanks for your comments, really good suggestions. And it’s great to have my attention drawn to things like the window sill being cut out, great advice I can only learn from.
The contrast.. I would have to do all this on photoshop wouldn’t I? I don’t have any programmes like that yet, but I know it’s something I really, really have to learn.

might be worth getting a Graduated filter to stop the sky from being washed out. I got one a while back and it was an amazing investment. I got the Cokin starter kit in dublin for like 50euro.

Thanks for this advice! Thought I had posted a reply to you already… have read about filters and thought it might be something I should get, but I wasn’t too sure. I’ll do a bit more reading!
Think I will head down and try the window shoot straight on tomorrow.. it’s only down the road thank god! I’ll post my further attempts.

Great set of photos… definitely think it captures the atmosphere of the event! Hopefully I’ll hone my (yet non- existent) skills and capture great photos like this myself some day!!

Image 5 looks a little bit like a hovering torso?! I’m no photography expert but I can offer advice from reading plenty of magazines!!!
