love the first, if its not a composite then I congratulate you on a wonderful shot. In relation to the second, again a lovely shot but I do find the halo around the flower in front of her shoulder distracting, what is generating the halo?

Thank you RAWSMITH32, the first is not a composite, It is a single shot. I explained how I did it a few replies up the thread ;) As far as the halo, It’s not on the original….and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how it got there. I tried to replicate my process and found out what caused it. I had the clarity slider all the way -100. I guess I was going for a soft touch in this shot and was mainly focused on her facial features and didn’t go through the whole image…now that you have mentioned it, I can’t believe I missed it,,,especially all the blown out petals around the area seem to be screaming at me

This will be re processed without a rush. Thanks for your comments, I learn fro them all! Manny

Beautiful capture, love them at this age!!!! I agree with Soda, a square crop would suit this capture.

Very nice Manny, I like the idea in the first shot very creative, and the
second shot is lovely, maybe a little too much oof space at the bottom of
    the frame, but very nice.

Thank you for the comment, I did toy with the crop some on the second shot…I couldn’t pick which one I liked better so I just used the whole shot.

Very nice indeed. If would resize the second one square.

I’ll have to try that, I didn’t think about a square crop. Thanks for the comment.

2 lovely shots and very different especially the first which makes it so good.
These shots are making me feel very old i take it she is Your daughter Savanna the soccer players friend what age are they now.
I’m sure Tiana is extremely happy with both shots.

    Soda

lol, old indeed my friend :) Savanna and her buddy are 15. Time flys now it seems as we get older doesn’t it? Savanna is no longer in soccer. She made the JV team just recently but I took her off as her grades dramatically changed. She will go try out again once her grades are back in check. I felt bad doing it as shes a natural forward and even the coaches pleaded with me…but it was just too much on her plate…
Anyway Tiana loved every shot, I took over 200 of her that day, her mom wanted to give me money but i told her to just spread the word that I have a camera that takes awesome pictures :)

    Hi Manny

I like both photos but especially like the first one. How did you actually manage to take it though? Very nice

Thanks James, The setup is similar to shooting water drops, just on a bigger scale. I had my daughter hold out her hand about where that full facing daisy is. I focused and locked it…I told Tiana to throw some flowers….done Tried about 6-7 times

+1 above. How did you managed to get the first like that – did you have the camera on continuous mode?

Second is lovely – will look great on the wall.

Thanks positron, yes the camera was on burst :D

For me she is extremely photogenic which adds to the quality of the picture. Although the first pic looks empty with just two flowers in the air my eyes are constantly trying to scan for more detail (tickle my curiosity to see more).

I don’t know much about composition but from an artistic point of view I love both :)

Thank you Jetpack, appreciate the comments. I had a couple where she threw a lot of flowers, not one was focused right and didn’t look like the shot I wanted. this one had the best focus on the flower so i used it.

How are things Manny, have seen these on vwvortex. Amazing work, great timing and focus on the 1st shot. The only thing I would change in the 2nd shot, would be darkening the oof are at the bottom of the shot, but thats just my opinion.

Hey Jonny, whats your name on the tex bro? I appreciate your comments on the shots as well. I did darken the oof are on the bottom but it didn’t look right to me…I’ll just have to not be lazy next time and put on the lens hood, I’m thinking it might have helped with that glare..

Thanks again everyone for the comments, always appreciated ;)
