We had them on the neighbours berry bush in Co Clare a couple of years ago (I know that is odd)….I think it was 2006. Fab looking birds and interesting to watch one keep guard while the others ate and then switching over….the berry bush was emptied in a few days and then they were gone!

Well it depends on where you live…my postie knows where I live but if she changes or goes on hols, it takes time for the new one to get our mail right….letters arrive with not the (slightly different surname) in (another region of the same area). Couriers have a nightmare finding us….I guess it depends on how urban you live as to whether your post is easy or more complicated.
Having lived in the UK, postcodes do work and in many ways make sense. It can be argued with our population that there is no need for them but an example of how rural deliveries go wrong….today due to non delivery of an expected parcel, we have just discovered that the courier who was meant to deliver it could not find us, he left it in the local post office, alledgedly left us 2 phone messages to tell us it was there (niether of which where to our phone numbers) and only for we rang the seller who tracked it down it could have stayed in the local post office forever….as it is, it has been there since last Thursday! All in all I am not against postcodes :)

Postcodes would be helpful as my address is my name, a region, a town, a county and that is it….the region is a reasonable size, I am really based half way between two towns and bar the postie who basically learns where everyone lives it must be a nightmare! I do know my gps settings for our house but it feels kinda weird to add my GPS location to an address :)

With us it all depends on whether the courier gets a number or not…I did leave specific instructions with warehouse express at ordering stage that the courier would need a phone number and extra directions given. DHL in fairness have always been ok with us as has UPS, we had a DPD driver deliver our parcel to somebody in Kildare….I guess Co. Clare on the address meant nothing and TNT just never found us….had to have it redirected to work and even then the fella just wrote down the street name and tried to deliver it to two other places before my 5th phone call got him to come to the right place!!!!
For the price of delivery it really should not be the issue you are having deborah, I hope it turns up today and well packaged.
My order should be shipped today so I guess that means I should have it Friday?!?!

Lol oh dear Deborah if they cannot find your house they will never find mine, I live up a vague turn only noted by a very small quarry!!!! Although despite yesterday being told that my order was off to the warehouse for dispatched having checked the stock. I got an email from somebody else today telling me that my item is not in stock and I can place a backorder with them if I wish!?!?!?! Looks like I will be ringing them tomorrow to find out what is going on at all! Not a great first experience with warehouseexpress!
Do let me know who delivers your item in the end….if it is TNT there is absolutely no hope of them ever finding me :)
Des over the counter looks better everyday :)

Deborah, the 450D looks like a great camera and I am sure it will be a very good distraction from your thesis :) I will try fax them on Monday…it seems verified by visa…still needs verifying by bill also….I thought that was the point of verified by visa but there you go. If the fax is no good I will scan my bill at work.
Bricker if I still lived in Swords ( I come from Rivervalley originally) I would def be on the road to the north (although the price I paid balances out the postage costs) but from Clare it is just a journey i cannot make at this moment in time….have done it with a stop off at the folks which makes it easier and without a stop off which is a long drive.

    Hi Deborah,
Did you pay with verified by visa secure payment option? I only ask as I wonder if I will also need to fax them my details, although I have a vague feeling I ordered from them before!
I plumped for the 50D body with a battery grip as an upgrade to my 20D so delivery was a whooping 57.50GBP :) still cheap at the price though! I was totally torn by the 5D Mk2, however, I decided that at the moment the 50D (which is totally up to my needs) with some new shiny L glass and tripod to follow is far more practical than the 5d Mk2 alone.
    Hope my transaction goes smoothly….

Thank You Enda :) I will have a look into that. I have a spyder 2 (I think) and it came with printfix which I have not sat down and played with but will do one day soon  However, the site you mentioned sounds very useful so thanks again :)

Looks more like a hen party to me :) I am pretty sure I can see the bride with her horns a little bit behind the first two pink cowboy hats (standard hen party issue) :) although she is a little hidden in the crowd!

Mark don’t get me wrong I have nothing against those who shoot jpg….I am very much an each to their own kinda person and as my original post re jpg shooting stated you are not alone in shooting jpg as I know you are aware :)

I am not in the wedding business and have no desire to join it anytime soon :) I simply got dragged into it by my brother. I shot in RAW as for me it had the safety belt my very stressed out self needed and I didn’t need 100s/1000s of shots that a full on wedding would easily create.

I find it interesting that the shooting RAW vs JPG has grabbed many peoples interests…..I guess its like the ole Canon vs Nikon debate which I also don’t subscribe to :) Use the gear that suits you and the file format that you are happiest using :)

For me….the wedding is done….it was shot in RAW simply for the security (for me personally) and hopefully I will have some nice shots out of it for my brother and his family :)

I agree and did shoot RAW on the day….the reason I mentioned it was because I was surprised to read that a very popular wedding photography who charges a large some of money shot in JPEG as his norm.
    Thanks for your feedback though!
