Hi – you could download and install a free program called Faststone Image Viewer. In the Tools section there is a facility to
batch convert a number of raw files to jpg. Alternatively, photoshop as you mentioned.
Hope this helps.

Hi Mark
I use a website called http://www.suncalc.net to plan photo trips. You can select your location, date
etc and it will show the sunrise and sunset times and positions and some other info. There are also numerous
apps etc for smart phones that will do this.
I’m presuming you want to photograph the lakes so I just checked a few dates over the holidays
and it looks like sunset might be best. When using these tools you also need to bear in mind the
terrain. Trees, Mountains etc might block light !!
There are a few PI-ers that live in the area so they may reply with more/better info.
Hope this helps.
Martin.
Hi Paddy. The 70-200 is a great lens. You are correct in a lot of your assumptions and you do need a 2.8.
An updated version of the lens has been released more recently. http://www.dpreview.com/news/2010/1/5/canon70200isii
Thanks Steve and Damian for your replies, some food for thought there for sure. I think I will investigate
this a bit further based on what you have said. Thanks again.
Martin.
