Hi,

Fill flash – i dont think so! Street photography in Marrakesh is tricky enough without dragging attention to yourself. Sure, if you ask and and they agree and you get that kind of shot (which I’m totally fine with, and do regularly) but the the sneaky grab shot that you just couldn’t set up – It’s got to be done quietly. To my way of thinking anyway.

The settings were iso 800, F2.8 35mm on a full frame body (yes, I’m pretty close to this guy), 1/25 of a second, which is why I’m panning with him.

Two great shots, and I love movement in a shot. It shows there is stuff going on, and you knew what you were after.

Hi Mark,

Yeah, that bag is bugging me too. But if you’ve shot there, you know how quick you need to be. I just love the expression, holding the coins, and the hand out looking for money. I’m not shooting for postcards or competitions, but I really like when I can catch a slice of life, that moment, that instant when a photo tells a story.

What, you mean this old thing?

I nearly got into a row over having taken it, he was really ticked off. Ah well :-)

And yes, when the wanderlust hits, you really have to answer it!

The story really makes it – But it’s a strong image anyway. I like the punchy processing.

It’s nerve wracking stuff! i’m not sure I enjoy it, but it’s worth pushing yourself. Keep it up!
