I made a big effort to get the stone walls in to the shots, I agree that it really adds to it.

It would be hard to put the camera in a position that it is out of the way and I would be worried about distracting or spooking the horses. The year before I tryed this angle

Maybe next year I can get a more straight on shot.

I had the camera on continues shoot mode, but in the next shot, as you said the underbelly cropped purple jockey’s faces. Also have this one?

Opps, your right about the vertical pole in background I forgot to clone it out in the first shoot, this is another camera I had set up on a monopod. Thanks for the constructive comments.

I do agree, I like the first one best

I cloned out the camera in the background and two pieces of dust on the sensor, played with the curves, saturation and contrast.

Thanks for the comments and critique GaryMc,

I do agree It would really make the image if I had of gotten the Jockeys expression…

    A nice set of photos.

No.2 with battle scares & no.5 with the reflection would be my prefered shots.

    Thanks Soda & Marc.

I followed Harry Lime’s advice and did a small bit of burning and blurring in the bottom left corner, I much rather this version.

Also see second shot from same session. On this one I feel the crop is a little to tight on the tip of his ski.

    C&C always welcome

My legs were really tired from the trek up and down and I slept great that night, it really does make you appreciate ski lifts.

I softened and burned the image a little to try emphases the speed and movement, when doing this I tried to keep the skier as sharp and vibrant as possible.

Thanks for the kind comment. Glad you Like.

I think you are right about the bottom left corner, It is a little distracting, might reedit it with a little bit of burning, dodging and blurring.

    Hi Shaneog,

These are really nice set of photo’s, you managed to capture the craftsmanship and work which goes into shaping and glassing boards. I particularly like the angle and framing of the first photo.

Great Photo, She looks amazed by the bubbles.

I would be inclined to do a little tighter crop, get rid of the grey material in the chair and some of the empty space to the left and top.

Defiantly worth all the effort, very original.

I used a 20d for many years, I had been feeling limited by this camera and disappointed with the pixilation in low light and flash photos. After a lot of research I recently purchased a second hand 1d MK11 n. I have found this camera to be absolutely great. It is a little bulky, but it’s performance makes up for this. I find the auto focus, High ISO quality, High Speed, 1.3 crop (instead of the 1.6), ease of use, etc. All brilliant.

They do come up for sale in the classified, but it is worth waiting for a good example.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for the kind comments and critique Joseph and Alan.

I will have a look at brightening up the shadows to reveal more detail and I might also add a little more contrast in these areas.

    Regards
    Richie
