    Dave,
I would crop a good deal of sky from it, just above the main body of cloud make it 15 x 9. agree also with both comments above.

nice capture, great colours, I don’t like the grass/weeds or whatever they are at the bottom…if it was me I would pshop them out as I think they take from the scene.

This is a very good landscape shot and I agree with the comments above…
So that is where the sun went to…it’s supposed to be in the south-east!!

    RAS,
I like this a lot, and yes I see the river Lady on the left bank and her watcher in the rock.
I understand where John is coming from, I find myself at fast flowing streams like this a lot and its always difficult to capture the light spot on, but I think you have done a good job here.
Its a pity that branch got stuck where it did as I would prefer the wider image.

Did a print of this in B&W today and it came out very well.
Vee…try as I might, I couldn’t replicate the tones to the same finish as the previous image and I prefer those too. It could be that I am not very skillful in processing as I tend to do very little…doesn’t sound complaining! :)
Isabella…found out today that the owner still lives over the shop and is quite cranky, just as well I was there at 6am!

Yes I like it RAS, very peaceful looking, hardly a ripple, perfectly still heron and the colour you left on the boat gives it a nice little lift.

Really like this John…I can imagine the panic stations when you saw the possibility, rushed for the camera, hurried to set up…and you managed to capture it so well and sharp.
Its dark but has enough detail to be instantly recognizable.

    thanks folks for your comments.
I knew as soon as I posted the first image that it was the wrong one…
This one works best for me, it looks good in B&W but like Vee I prefer the sepia tones

    thanks Isabella,
as I look at both images side by side I agree that with more of the field in makes for a stronger image.
Must head up here tomorrow am for a winter shot!

Thanks a lot for your comments, all very valid.
I am very confused by it myself but captured the scene as I saw it. There are 2 or possibly 3 seperate images within it but I am very interested to hear your opinions.
It was taken in April but I misplaced the file and only found it again this week. I would have loved to have been here this morning as we had a very heavy overnight frost.
This is the full version of the image…

    thanks Isabella…opinion well received,
I’m looking forward to the festive break when I can (within reason) pick & choose the morning i head out…imaging having the bones of 10 days off!! As it is I’m restricted to Sunday mornings with the odd exception.
I am very pleased with pic 3 and it converts well into B&W…I agree that the others need a lift.
