What are you looking for a full frame camera to provide that the 550 can’t? Just be sure about what you’re hoping to achieve. When you switch to full frame you’ll be ruling out EF-S lenses and your lens bill will take a hell of a jump. You might be better off putting your money into a decent lens rather than buying a new camera unnecessarily.

Nice exposure and tones in this. I think the composition might be improved if the tower and the rock were on the diagonal. The tower is a bit too far left for me. The clouds look great though.

    Hi,
I’ve the Canon 18-200mm EF-S on my old 400d. Planning on trading up to full-frame soon so would be interested in selling it for the right price :)

    PM me if you’re interested.

Definitely agree with Isabella, there is nothing like having a physical print to stand back and admire. It can also change your perception of the photo. Theres been several occasions where I’ve printed a photo I liked on screen and would change my mind when I see it printed.

In the last year or two, I’ve been getting photos that I’m happy with printed 12×8 and mounting them on black or white mounting board. The mount can really add to the print also. Have a nice stack of prints now that I flick through every now and then.

I use Photobox.ie for printing. Never had any problems with them.

Nice timeless shot. Maybe clone out the little triangle at the bottom left corner though.

Interesting article and site! Hadn’t come across that before. Thanks for the heads-up. :)

Lovely shot. The mist in the background really adds to it. Think it could do with being a bit brighter though. Just to lift it a little bit. It looks quite dull on my screen (uncalibrated).

Would be nice to do so alright but hard to justify when the price difference is so big. I’m saving the pennies for a 6D which is €1999 in Conn’s or €1300 on procamerashop.

Really like this. Great composition and framing from the character on the right. Nice gritty feel to it also.

Thanks for the comment Dave. Its a fabulous spot alright. I took this during the spell of good weather so there is plenty of colour and punch in the original. I generally prefer B&W though and when experimenting with it I pulled the contrast right down and softened it, thought it made it sort of ‘dreamscapey’…if that makes any sort of sense! :p

Great capture, beautifully composed and nice use of short depth of field. Can’t beat some real grain either, really adds nice texture to the photo. Reckon that’d make a nice B&W.

Agree re the building top but aside from that its a great shot. Nice clean perspective and straight verticals. Love the way your eye is drawn in one street and out the other. Pin-sharp front to back too.

Wow, really interesting processing. Almost jumps off the screen.

Me too! Hard to know how to get into it without raising eyebrows. I guess maybe establish a portrait portfolio and branch into it from there once you can show that you’re interest is genuinely photography?

Lovely shot though. Great lighting and processing. Love the lines from the wall as well. They almost add a sense of vertical movement to it.
