There is nothing good about recession.
Prices soar, there will be no significant pay rises for a lot of us.
Not to mind the worry that some of us have about losing our jobs.
Sure it would be nice to have the time to hang out in town chatting to people over a coffee.
However without a salary one wouldn’t be able to afford the coffee.
Oh and also it may not be too nice out there on the street when one’s home is repossessed.
I have no positive thoughts on recession, in fact I am seriously worried.
God damned midges, got a bite on my leg the other day, it’s swollen and inflamed and I hate going to
the Doctor, so I am suffering.
Be warned do not venture anywhere where the midge is at large!
Apart from that gripe, whale watching sounds like a class adventure (Madra Rua I think).
Peter, a positive aspect is that we are a creative race of people, we like words and have excelled
in the literary. Poetry, plays etc. We love argument and debate as you have seen on this site.
In the negative, we are insular and are in the infancy of considering ourselves part of the European Continent.
This is perhaps because we are an island nation.
I still refer to mainland Europe as ‘The Continent’, I probably always will.
God almighty, you did this from a car window!
I’m only starting out with photography, I could try all day and
not get the beauty you captured. It’s lovely.

As I live in Galway, I would like to suggest the Aran Islands.
Ocean, rocks, birds, stone age forts, boats, characters in the pub, the isolation and tranquility of
the place lending to the creative process …… need I say more!
However, what time of year is without dull light and rain is something I am unable to predict.
That’s where the indoor shots of the characters comes into play!

I love people shots, and really like this one.
I love the way you caught the guy in the front making eye contact with the guy in the back row.
All the front men look like ‘characters’ and the back row lads are younger but look like apprentice
‘characters’.
What is particularly nice is the way the other guys in the front are connecting with you in a relaxed
way, no posing or stiffness. I expect there was a bit of banter going on.
Denverdoll, had a look at your flicker, bet it was a great day.
Keep the pics it was an historic day, one to tell the grandkids about and you have the PICTURES.
I can’t see how Obama could lose.
