You need at least a 300mm for sports. 200mm would be way too short.

I looked at the Sigma but decided to go for the Canon 300mm f2.8 instead. Wasn’t disappointed. The wait while saving was worth it.

Just got my 40d last week. There is no comparison. Held onto my 400d for team shots. Not a patch on the 40D.
