Thanks for the comments guys. Haven’t posted anything in ages
It was a surprise trip from my fiancée for my birthday ….I’m very lucky I know, so I didn’t have my tripod. So I was propping my camera on a rubbish bin trying to keep it steady.
The bin I had cropped out originally, but I uploaded the wrong one.
b318isp you are spot on, the bin was not placed in the frame by design.
I was thinking of getting one printed out on a large canvas, any recommendations for which one. I was thinking the first one as I think the perspective is a little different.
I realy like these type of picutures, might not be everyones cup of tea.
But I like this shot, it reminds me a bit of Manga.
IMO it would look good with a white boarder. And would look great printed out and hung on a wall
That looks much, much better. Thank a mill
Did you have to do much more with the second image posted.
I will have to get practicing, could you recommend books, tutorials etc that could help me improve.
Thanks for your comments. I had a go again with your comments in mind, and I think it looks a little better.
I think you are correct, this will take a lot of practice to get natural looking images.
Hi Shutter bug.
the lens was a tamron 70-300mm for all pics (not the most expensive, got it on ebay for around €120, but didn’t what to spend any more until i know alot more).
I had a quick look at the photo data and they were all taken with aperture priority, I tried to bump up the ISO, but as it was hand held and the day got very very overcast and dark I couldn’t get a fast enough shutter speed, plus it was a very nice zoo with lots of trees, which sadly blocked what little light there was. Oh ya nearly forgot some of them where shot through glass, so that didn’t help. (there was one lady there are the same time with a tripod and expensvie looking equipment and I was really tempeted to ask her for a lend of her tripod.. but didn’t have the nerv).
For the Koala, this was actualy taken on the great ocean road, another day altogether (with lots of light), He (or she not sure) just woke up and was climping down the tree for some food, which was very lucky because the tour dude said it is very hard to get to see one that is active and not asleep.
Thanks for taking the time to look at them, have you any recommendations or comments for a beginner.
Thanks for the comments, all constructive comments very much appriciated, trying to reduce the number of shouts taken and improve the quality.
Didn’t think they we the best myself, but haven’t posted many images so I get I better get cracking.
I thought the first one was kinda funny as this guy had all the aboriginal gear on…with a pair of raybans on his head, but i agree the white does take away from the image.
For # 2 it was a bit of a rush shot and a shallower depth of field would of helped. but he was looking at me out of the corner of my eye so I said I would put in in.
Thanks for the comments, I haven’t posted to many images to date, but trying to put some more up so I can get some input on how to improve.
Cheers
Owen
