    It’s a Dunnock – Prunella modularis

Sometimes referred to as a Hedge Sparrow – though not a member of the Sparrow family.

I think the light is great and I like the lead in along the shoreline – but I can’t see much sign of a bridge.

I guess it’s one of those shots that only works well if you’re familiar with the location.

Nice shot! Looks like a place to spend some time and get lots of different angles!

I think a figure in there walking away from us would bring this one to life. Maybe a couple. And a dog. A dog with a red coat on. A puppy. A cute puppy! :)

Another vote for the Nikon 50mm F1.8 – I have teleconverters bigger but performs VERY well!

I’ve been shooting with the D3 for a couple of months now and my conclusion is – believe the hype.

I kept my D2Xs as 2nd body (Sold the old backup D200) – but to be honest I’m finding myself changing lenses rather than use it.

Should make one hell of a print

    Just me two cents worth

Thanks – the 20×16″ mounted print won my local camera club monthly print comp – and is part of my entry into our regional annual competition :)

Interesting use of the 150mm Macro. Can I ask what sort of distance was between yourself and the bird?

    About 2m

The only reason I used the 150mm is that I’d lent my Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 to a friend as his main zoom was poorly.
