Thanks Dave, I really struggled with that halo throughout, particularly down the right side of the wall. It’s more prominent on this smaller shot as well annoyingly. Even though the adjustment of the sky overlaps the brickwork and the adjustment of the brickwork doesn’t go near that right edge, there’s still the halo :(
The sun behind the castle wasn’t helping in fairness, out with the adjustment brush again then….
Thanks for this, I agree with the feedback there, but as in shutterbug’s case, this was from my back garden, and the steel shed doesn’t make for good foreground interest !
I used deepskystacker on the previously mentioned settings, then just messed around a bit in Lightroom, to get the above. DSS does a far better job of removing the noise, without losing details. But requires more patience and processing power / time.
Need to go try this but out in a more interesting area than my back yard !
Agree, when checking ebay, be sure to search on Sold Items, not current auctions, this gives a better idea of actual sales, not people with their heads in teh clouds asking stupid prices or with silly reserves
I’ve seen these too, I’m presuming they are saved as a transparent PNG file and then added as a layer in Photoshop or as a graphic watermark in Lightroom, have yet to play with this option though. Don’t use one myself.
Perhaps someone who does can add something further ?
You have to remember though that these ultrazooms or whatever they’re called are generally considered to be of lesser quality than zooms with a narrower range.
You can’t pack all that focal choice into one barrel without compromising somewhere, particularly if you want to keep the price down !
Good stuff, the hardest thing I found was to remember if I’d advanced the film after taking a picture !!! If you have any questions I’m sure there’ll be plenty of answers from the people who’ve already had it !
After all that, it was me who ended up having to kick their own ar5e into gear, posted registered post this morning…should be with Mick this week some point.
Is it safe anywhere to carry around a couple of grands worth of kit ?? I’d say normal common sense approach applies.
Been a while since I was in Prague but the market square with the Astronomical Clock and gothic Church are great opportunities. Also the St Vitus Cathedral on top of the hill is all lit up at night.
As thefizz mentions, the Charles bridge is also a good spot.
And don’t forget to round the evening off with some local tipple, the beer there is some of the best I’ve ever had….
