Oh do! Donegal is a fabulous place for photos, as was Lahinch in Co Clare!! I’m still learning about white balance as I was stuck on Auto for a long time. However, recently I made the move to manual although I love aperture priority, I must say :) :)
Sinead
Been to Co. Clare. I think anywhere in Ireland is just fantastic for photos, as long as it does not rain. =) (well, maybe rain is the reason Ireland is so green and blue)
Doesn’t almost everybody use a.p most? I also love it. Even I don’t see the reason using full-manual yet. :D Still so behind…..
Beautiful! Lovely light, colour and bokeh and very sharp too :) I really love the first one, particularly the reflection in her glasses. Wish I was there!!
Thanks,
I actually tried really hard this time, as I’ve been said to keep the proper white balance. (Still love odd white balance though)
Anyway, I looked around your Flickr and website. And, Donegal…! That’s my next place to go, I have to say. :D
I think the first is great, but would maybe play with the crop a little,
I think it would look good in b&w too….. but, I think that about nearly
every picture I see!
Sinead.
Hello, Jess. I reckon I am toooo lazy to think about all the things such as crop, highlights, shadows, gradation…..!! Too many things..
Anyways, I love B&W pictures too, and would love to use my OLYMPUS PEN-FT (Half-frame SLR camera) with B&W films. Could you tell me where is the cheapest shop that I can buy B&W films? :D
Hi
Welcome to PI
What camera do you use and we will be able to offer some advice on getting the best shots. Your settings look wrong at the minute, it could be the white balance etc..
Dee
Hi Deebo, I use PENTAX K100D with 21, 40 and 70 limited. The settings are 0, 0, 0. saved in PEF(raw file), retouched with Lightroom. Now, I am ready to get the best shots! :D Please give me some advice. I had stopped taking pictures 3yrs ago, and started doing it again 6 months ago. I feel like I lost all my sensibility. Help me!! :o Ah yeah, I use mac.. That can cause colour problem as well, can’t it?
You have an original photographic style too.
I always try to avoid blowing the highlights but you’ve produced some interesting
images here even if they break some rules. Numbers 3 & 4 possibly don’t have the
right to break rules – but the others are good shots in spite of their “faults”. If there
are any Holga lovers still visiting I reckon they’ll love some of these.
Thanks for your comment and advice. Well, whenever I retouch pictures I try to make them look like what I felt at that time, not what I saw. That might be the reason why I just blow all the highlights. Next time, I might try not to blow up the highlights if it’s possible with my poor skills.. 8)
Welcome aboard K. Your English is fine, as Noely said. As for not being
a professional photographer, well, they’re few and far between here so you’re
in good company…
Rob.
I just worry about my ugly pictures. almost all members have great sense of it which i don’t have. :)
Anyhow I like to take pictures, love it. so i suppose i am in good company as u said. :) thank you
Welcome K…….dont worry about your English…..I’m still learning
Thanks. I am not gonna worry about my English as u said. But if i say something wrong please correct it.
Anyway you are much better than me, even though you are still learning. :)
