I’m not using any connector lead. The transmitter sits on the hot shoe and the receivers sit under the flashes. I’ve two transmitters and I can take them directly off either of my MkII’s (where they both work perfectly) and fit either of them to the MkIII and nothing. Flashes refuse to fire!
Love the first shot especially with the legs in the top corner. Great juxtaposition with the main subject.
Second shot is bland with nothing really going on. Just an average portrait.
Can’t understand why you’re not getting a reaction to these.
Apart from the site being quiet, these are just record shots of other peoples art and as such not particularly impressive photographs. You walk up to the mural, point and shoot. I know, I’ve done it myself :D
As record shots go, they do the job fine but as “street” shots they don’t work as there is nothing going on in any of them apart from the last one with the guy on the ladder.
It’s quite a nice shot of a pretty urban streetscape that happens to have some kids playing in the bottom. However they are too small in the scene and you struggle to find them. For me the main focus is the lovely texture of the walls which dominate the scene and the beautiful light coming over the wall. To make a street shot of this you need to get closer and make the kids the subject of the shot.
To me it has moved away from photography and into digital art. It’s totally over processed but then if that’s what the paying customer wants, so be it.
The portrait itself is quite nice with her little cheeky expression and you’ve caught her eyes beautifully. I would have moved that stray hair from across her right eye if spotted in time or cloned it out afterwards.
I like the guy with no head in the first shot – though I would like to see all his head. I think he adds to the shot as an interested spectator but out of focus enough not to distract you. I’m more distracted by the half woman and handbag on the right – crop here please. The B&W conversion is spot on.
The second shot is meh to me. I’d rather he was looking at his piano or had his eyes closed. His gaze has me wondering what is more interesting outside the frame. Again, a very nice B&W conversion.
The street performer has been done to death and the fake blur just does nothing for the shot. I like the second one, though I would like to see more of his face. The B&W conversion is quite good. I also think he still has enough space in front of him to move into.
Last two are out of focus and uninteresting. Looks like they are taken from a long way away and cropped in to get close. The john3:7 one is probably the best of the lot but lacks any contrast. The can is a still life shot that happens to be taken in the street. Nice bokeh behind it but it’s not a “street or documentary” shot.
