I know nothing about Canon lenses but the advice to buy from Pixmania for a few quid of a difference might not be the best advice (no offence Brendan). With the local ones he can check the quality of the lens and to make sure it works. With Pixmania you still have to pay postage and if something does go wrong with warranty Pixmania have been reputed to be difficult to contact (based on topics here in the past, not personal experience).
Just another angle to consider, I suppose.
Alan.
Thanks for the replys.
As irishwonkafan said, my friend would rather buy local as he doesn’t like buying online . Prefers to check it out first.
static, like not moving. The car and background are both clear and sharp. This makes the car look still. Panning is when you get the car in the viewfinder as it approaches you and you follow the car and photograph it as it’s passing (not pausing) and follow through until it’s gone past. You could fire off a few shots from start to finish like this (if your camera will allow you to take multi shots).
Oh I get you know. Ya my camera can take 30 photos in a burst mode but only saves the last 3 I took! :( Also I dont know how to set it up as im new to photography
Hi Rallymad95. Not bad for a first attempt. The car is well composed and exposure is fine. The background is a bit distracting though and the image is a bit static. If you have photoshop, you could probably add blur to the picture to give a sense of movement, this would greatly improve it. The car appears to be turning towards you, and will be moving slower as it passes, maybe if you photographed them on a straight section of the course and panned the camera to follow the car, they would appear to go faster in your shots. Overall a good result though. Well done & keep it up.
Thanks miki g! :D What do you mean by a bit static? I dont have photoshop sadly, not sure how to use it properly. Aswelll How do you panning properly? everything I try and do it in manual mode the photo comes out too dark or bright.
