I sort of find the amount of reflection in the eye on the first one a bit too distracting with the very tight crop giving not much else to look at, this is something I have had problems with doing equines lately.
The 2nd shot is quite a nice angle and expression in the eye.
Hi, Sorry I don’t know as I am not the original owner. I bought it ‘as new’ from someone about 9 months ago. It can’t be too old as the older ones where not HSM focusing as far as I know. cheers
Yeah I generally agree on the cloning thing Alan, I certainly used to be that strict with myself about it, especially with street. However I have come round to the idea of cloning small things if they are distracting…only today I cleared some dog $#!* from a photo, I couldn’t recompose to get rid of it and I didn’t fancy actually clearing it up :)
Hitchcock it is definitely! Certainly a great capture from an iPhone
As for shooting from the hip, yeah I’d agree with Alan’s comments too
I have used the technique a few times, partly when I have felt a bit chicken and partly because I like the angle and slight randomness of it. Mostly I try to man up and just put the camera up to my eye and be fast and casual about it.
