I bought the lens on its own, not as part of a kit and have been using it on my 30D for 2 years.

This is what I have my eye on to replace my 28-135 IS. It looks awesome but the most expensive lens I’ve bought so far has been the 70-300 IS which I got second hand for 280. It’s such a big jump from that to the €800 this baby costs. This one lens would be worth the same as all of my others put together (4 of them! – all good canon brand lenses). Not sure if I can justify that expense. Plus it would push my estimation of what a reasonably priced lens costs up, thus probably making me want to replace all my perfectly good lenses with L versions. i don’t want to be a gear junkie :(

But I do think I want this lens. Christmas present…. to myself

There is no way I would be able to get close enough to those wasps to take the pictures that you take. Have you ever been stung, or does the flash make them angry? Great photos by the way

You’ve accepted an offer of 270 so i think 280 is a reasonable price to go to from there. I can meet you this week

I would be interested in teh 70-300 lens for €280 and can meet in Dublin any time
