It’s not a bad photograph but would it appeal to anyone who dosen’t know the subject?
Just posing the question for the sake of discussion.

    Cheers.
    John.

Hey John thanks for the reply. I probably should have named it something else, for me the appeal isn’t that it’s of my Mum rather that I liked the expression on her face and the movement of the people around her. I like to photograph people unposed in and out of their natural environment so that’s why I found this one interesting.

    And thanks sndipo!

I think you’ve achieved what you set out to do. It does resemble what you remember to be the WOTW. I’m assuming this was a sky replacement? Nice job…but can’t help wondering what it would be without the orange Corsa. Funny, a sky like this and I wonder about a car!!

    Alan.

Nope actually the sky wasnt a replacement at all the clouds were just particularly freaky that day. Here’s the original.

aoluain: I don’t know what to say, the image is showing up fine for me…

I’d have thought f/16 at 800 might be a little slow for sports but your more experienced than I. I’d definately be interested to see some shots showing this things scope.

great topic. It wasn’t really 1 particular picture that did it for me either, but I remember being shown some stuff by Chris Clor and it really opened my eyes to the possibilities and brought me into the world of photography. This is one of my favourites by him.

Ye sorry i dunno i just felt the interest was in the sky not the foreground, you say it would make the image tiny i just assumed the full size image was in the 2000-3000 pixel range so it wouldn’t be that small.

Those are some epic skies! The sunrays in the second one are fantastic. I wonder what a tighter crop would look like, putting the sun in the left background of the photo.

Personally i’d leave the top, this is an excellent image. I prefer the second one too, although the sun could be just a tad too bright. Beautiful image though, what was it shot with?
