Once you learn something each time, your ok. I learn something new each time I pick up the camera.

    Practice makes perfect :)

Nice shot. Liking the life and detail in the eyes.

This would be great shot if it was a planned shoot. It is eveneEven better cause it was candid and a ‘grab shot’. No doubt if she had the opportunity, she would but it.

    Well done.

Nice set. I actually like #1 the best. Its more personal and I like the light better.

If I was to be picky, I would try and fix the barrel distortion a little more. It is more noticeable on the #2 with the straight lines from the bricks, especially at the top. But that just me :)

the first shot is much better. The little tilt of the head makes all the difference.

Also, as already mentioned, the background is distracting. You seem to have nice big windows, next time take a shot of her at the window. Windows are a great big light source what will give nice even light. It will also yield come nice catch lights too if you place it right.

Here is an example of a window light portrait I did. I also used a small reflector to soften shadows just a tad:

Nice capture of his expression. I would also crop it too to loose the jumper. Maybe burn the bit of dirt on his face to make it stand out a bit more perhaps?

Also the title is misleading. Although you know when and where the photo was taken, to every one it is just a nice portrait shot with no evidence of a machine in the photo. Just a thought.

What is the idea behind the project, the converse shoes or the fact that you seem to do a lot of sitting around :) :)

i dont get the title and how it has anything to do with the photo, also, this is just the back of someones head. no interaction or story.

I have to agree here i’m afraid. I was expecting a soccer photo to be honest when I read the title :)

Nice idea. I would have processed the background a little different. I would assume that you were trying to tone it down a bit to keep the attention on the two children. Would perhaps adjust the highlights a little to make it looks a little less gray and to bring out a little more detail in the foilage?

Also, for the composition, it looks as if the path is turning right, if you had to have taken a step or two to the left and still kept the children in the center, then you *MAY* have been able to include more of the path in and give it a longer, look to it. Just my 2cents

Nice shot. The expression and composition is fine. I think that some catch lights in the eyes would really make this pop.

Looks like you had a big soft light over head the subject, judging by the hotspot on the forehead? If so, perhaps next time drop it down a bit until the light from it is visible in the subjects eyes. This would also reduce the shadow in the eyes. My 2c

Some great shots there. I like the last two as they are more about her. If it was about the cloths 2 and 3 would be the best for it I think.

    Either way, all good shots

Great shot, I like it. Nice simple lighting, cloths and style. I like the small subtle frame that you put around it :)

If it was me, I would add just one more element. I would add one more light on the right had side behind the model to just add a small bit of a rim light and to add a little shine onto the hair. Buts thats just me, I ham gone a little strobist mad lately :)
