cheers for the comments, i use a sigma 18 – 50 2.8 on my 400d and then i have sigma 50-150 2.8 on my 40d, the 50-150 is a cracking lens i would highly recommend it, it is on my camera most of the time.. there is a problem with them though, they have a tendency to front focus, i bought mine 2nd hand in NY and got it calibrated in cork, since i got it calibrated i love it..
i use a canon 85mm 1.8 sometimes but i find the 50-150 covers so much ground that if i only want to bring one, thats the one a bring.

    cheers

the hotel at the end of the of the sea front in bray is an amazing place to shoot,
was at a mates video shoot there recently, there has been a load of films shot there also
    the commitmenst etc..

i know he had to pay but im sure you could get a good rate..
it is really old and shaby.

cant remember the name but its the black and white hotel at the end
    you cant miss it.

    hi,

great set of shots here, a few notes,
    1. a tighter crop could work better so that the artist fills the frame almost.
    2. great capture
    3. tighter crop just above the spotlight would be good and bring the main focus of the shot into the frame
he seems a bit lost in the frame.
    4. great shot.
    5. i would try ad a little more exposure.

these are a really nice set though, fairplay to you, where were they taken?

    Hi,

some great info here from Ashley fairplay.
i am in much the same situation as you i have been shooting
gigs for the last few months. in my experiance all these new bands have no
money and want to try get some shots for mutual benift in that you get credited
for the shots etc and if they are used for there albums etc then i would expect to be
paid. talking contracts and usage to alot of these guys can sometimes scare them
off and look for someone else that is trying to start out on the scene, that will do them
    for nothing no questions asked.
id say prob best to charge for you time on the day
and discuss usage when they see they shots etc.
just my 2cents anyways. good luck with them.

thanks for the feedback John. i know what you mean about the
little distractions. Thats what i get for staying up late on school night.

good to get that feedback cause i overlook them sometimes when
looking at some many for so long.
