Oh, what are you going to buy with your refund ? :)
Not so much “going to” Mark.
Got a Fuji xPro1 body, 27mm f2, 53mm f1.4, 90mm f2.4 Macro, Grip, Fuji-Leica M adapter, and a Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS II, and I still have €500 credit! :D
I have to say, after only trying the Fuji for a day, it suits me 1000% better than the Leica. I knew the hybrid viewfinder from the x100, and for anyone wearing glasses it’s a joy to use. the image quality from both camera and lenses is super, and I can even use Leica glass with it.
I tried to like the Leica when I got it, whereas with the Fuji, it was love at first sight.
I’m delighted with it, and making the switch was the best move I’ve made photographically.
Reviews are all well and good, but it’s only through using the equipment yourself can you really tell wheither or not somethings right for you.

Sorry to hear you’re getting messed around like this.
I’m sure the images of your big day are of more importance than getting a refund, but it seems to me like what the other comments say is probably true, ie. he’s lost the images, either through equipment malfunction or some other problem.
However as a wedding is a one off, and any wedding photographer worth the name should have multiple copies. They should use two cameras, at least, with the second camera capturing the ‘essential’ images, along with the main camera. A camera like a Canon 1Ds2 or 1Ds3 is ideal, because it can write to two cards (SD and CF) together, thus giving three copies of all the essential wedding day images, before you even make back-ups.
I don’t know what the legal situation is, and I know the images are more important than getting your money back.
However, I do remember reading about a situation in England a while back, where a judge awarded a couple £3000, not because the photographer failed to supply any images, but because the images weren’t up to standard.
So, I’d imagine you definately have a strong case, should it go to court.
If he gave you a receipt for the deposit, that’s a good start, and I’m sure there’s plenty of people who were at the wedding who’d be willing to identify him as the wedding photographer on the day.

No, but the 5Dii sold before the 7D, so that’s what i was left with when I started thinking about the possability of sometimes wanting longer than 90mm, plus the 7D had the dust in the finder which I only noticed after I put everything up for sale.
The dust thing doesn’t bother me, as it’s only when viewing, not in the pics. I’ll probably leave it in for cleaning at some stage.

Hi,
No, i haven’t sorted it yet.
If I’m honest, I’m strongly thinking of holding onto the 7D.
I got my Leica, which is fine. But the thing about Leica’s though, is they’re not really suitable for anything over 90mm focal length.
So if i hold onto the 7D, I’d have the longer focal lengths covered, especially with the 1.6x crop factor.
I don’t usually shoot long, but the thing I’m thinking about is, if occasionally i do…….?
Hence the reason I’m stalling with the 7D.

Hi,
As I said, this lens is in super condition.
So I’d be looking for the asking price of €900, or very close.
The offer you made is less than 1/2 the current retail price.
Thanks anyway.

I’m withdrawing the 7D & Grip
When I took it out I noticed some dust in the viewfinder, which I want to get cleaned before selling. Also, it has a generic grip, not Canon.
(I got confused because I have a 20D, and that has a Canon grip)
Still Available:
Canon 8-15mm Fisheye Zoom
Canon 90mm TS-E
Canon 300mm f2.8 (non IS)
Carl Zeiss ZE 35mm f2
Sorry Flinny, with all the selling today, I forgot to check the code on the 300mm  . I’ll check tomorrow evening.
Hi,
Don’t know how old, I intend to get the date code tomorrow.
I bought it secondhand from Alan Mc Donnell, who used to have a place in Portabello.
Haven’t used it much, I’m not really a sport/nature photographer, but I do know it’s one of, if not the sharpest lens I’ve ever had (and I’ve had some amount of lenses  , believe me, be it Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Hasselblad, Mamiya or Bronica)
