    Hi Paul,

Thanks for the comments, I will remove the pole from the next pano shoot I have planned.

As for the light pollution. I remember going out to shoot a meteor shower a couple of weeks back. Actually, it was the night I took those night shots of Dublin. I drove all the way up to Sally Gap, basically deep into the Wicklow Mountains and it never was pitch black. I figured at some point you would be surrounded by darkness. The orange brown glow was constantly visible.

Thanks. I know, I am trying to move away from Facebook so I figured it was time to put up a message on this board. Should have done that sooner.

    Cheers

I agree with what you are saying about the sky. I had that same question as well if the wonder of the scene was coming back in the photo. I think it does not. So I thought about it and I know now how to take the shot again and see if it brings the scene across as it should do. As for the bush. That doesnt botter me at all as it gives dept to the scene. But I will put in an effort to take the shot without the bush. Thank you both for your comments. You have inspired me to redo the shot.

As I am going back for the shot I might go in a bit early and see what the light does. As for the telephone pole. I do not mind it that much, I actually like it in this one. I do agree most of the times they ruin a photo. But in this case I think its actiually adding some depth and height to the photo. Thanks for your comments, I will take them aboard when taking the shot again.

I absolutely love the scene and the colours you used but there is something annoying me. I think its the composition. I dont mind the boat in the middle. But because the horizon is in the middle as well there is tension missing in the photo. I would crop the bottom and lower the horizon. Maye I would like it better then.

Yeah, I just tried the crop and it does look a lot better.

Great shot tho and I love the processing.

    Hi Miki,

Thanks, I got that from someone else too. I might redo the photo. The thing is that most of it is natural black, not photoshopped. And the wrist came out looking like that. I might redo the whole photo and get two wrists in. I think that looks better.

    Thanks
    Ron

The photo is out of focus. The left side of the car is under exposed. There is too much reflection in the window. Try a tripod and a polarisation filter. Go with a higher aperture number to decrease the DoF. Increase shutter speed for longer exposure. But I doubt you will get a good result in a garage with poor lighting.

    Hi Jodal,

Thanks. I have done a lot of reading and comparing and for now I have changed my opinion and I will buy the canon 55-250. The goal is to end up with a couple of L lenses but for the time being and the funds available to me I will have to settle for a cheaper lens.

The Full Circle – Humpback bridge on the R755 road, across the Avonmore river in Annamoe next to a trout fishery in the village. On my way to Glendalough I spotted this scene and parked the car to get some photos. Since the water was low, I was actually standing on the river bed taking a close up of the bridge as seen from the river.

Mellows Bridge spanning the Liffey – shot at night. Exposure 1/5 at ISO 800 – handheld supported. Funny enough they turn the green lights off later at night. I guess to save money and probably because not much people are out late at night to appreciate it.
