To answer some questions. I’m into pretty much all photography, love landscaping especially panorama’s, macro and sports photography. I’m also thinking of getting into astro photography.
I used Canon for years, still love Canon, I sold all my gear as I just never had time for photography anymore. I made some investments with the money which is paying off now. I also changed work a few months ago which means I have the time and money now to do photography.
The reason I tried Nikon was that when I bought my first SLR it was a Canon EOS 500N, stunning film camera. I feel I come from a background of too little experience with film and other brands. When someone talked about Nikon or any other make, I wouldn’t even have known how that camera feels in my hand. So once I started selling my gear, I did a bit of experimentation as well, bought the Nikon, used it for 2 months (where I had time) and sold it again, not really loosing much money, which of course is good.
I stumbled accross the Pentax K-x by accident on the internet about a week ago, looking at Canon, and it really grabbed me. I’m not interested in Sony, Olympus or any other make, but I have always like Pentax from I “think” it was the Z50.
Anyways, that when I thought before splurging again, I’d like to try the K-x. The features I like is 4.7fps, which is faster than any entry level DSLR, high ISO with a good noise profile. Megapixels don’t bother me as much, 12MP is plenty. And the HDR mode as well.
I honestly wasn’t aware that Pentax had such great optics, as is mentioned here.
How does Pentax’s optics compare to the like of the Canon 100-400 Lens, which is probably my favourite Canon Lens?
Also, in terms of focusing and speed of focusing and optical quality?
If I were to stay with Pentax, I’d probably keep the K-x as a backup / walkaround body, but I’d want a semi-pro body as well… any recommendations?
Anyone used the Tamron 18-250 Lens, as a everyday lens?
I’ve always prefered the likes of 30D / 40D and upwards, but am well impressed with what you’ve achieved with the 1000D.
I had an old 300D once, only camera I had at the time when invited to go to the Saltee Islands, everyone else had a 7D, but I was actually well impressed with the quality I got, although I couldn’t take decent action / fast moving photo’s, not at 1.5fps.
It’s the MK1, haven’t any Warranty left, bought just before MKII came out. Wasn’t used much, none of my camera gear (most of which I’ve sold already) was used much. Was always working allot and still is so I don’t get much time for photography, so I’ve started selling everything to help me pay for studying.
Anyways, Flash is in a very good, little used condition.
Hi, I have a Canon EX 580 Flashgun, perfect condition. Still have the manual, leather case stand.
It’s been used, but I look after my equipment very well. Never had any problems with it. I’m looking for around €370 for the flash.
I also have a Canon ST E2 Speedlite transmitter, never used, with the leather case as well. €150
The transmitter works well when you want to use the flash off camera, I think you can use up to 9 flashguns in 3 groups.
If you want both I can discount a bit on the price. Available to view and test if you want.
Thanx Mark, I’ve been trying to keep it civilised. I started the post after all.
I’ve sold most items now anyway, 1 left, although a bit left, but putting your the prices a bit higher usually ensures you still get a decent price and I think everone understands that.
I always respond when someone PM me, not when they just leave a general offer, cause I can’t go round PM every single person, and I did leave a general respond for eveyone to read.
Well, I’ve sold one item and are si=orting out another two.
I’m not getting pee’d of at you or even annoyed, just wondering why you keep on going on, I started the post, it’s my sales, you’ve said what you wanted, why do you need to say more?
Actually, I’m in Marketing and fairly successful as well.
Luckily, I’m not easily offended, calling me an idiot (under the cover of ‘what someone else said’) amd whatever else you might think is a bit petty.
Your entitled to your own opinion, but I’m asking you now, for the respect of the other posters here, don’t reply, your embarassing yourself.
I’ve sold one item already, busy negotiating another two.
Good Luck with whatever your doing, but please stop replying to my posts.
Thank You
FYI, I’ve ran 2 websites, had 2 shops on eBay, had one on eBid.net (latter was for research) and I use to sell Semi Pro gear (mostly Canon) from home, more for fun than anything else, had a fair sized client base, that’s how I got into Photography.
