Cool that really helps
That’s fantastic advice and I’ll certainly consider what you’ve said on my next shoot. Thanks again :)
Hi Brendan,
I love nothing more than someone being critical with my image. So thanks for your honest opinion.
It’s only by following advice that I will get better.
I ‘m guessing what you are saying is that there is too much clutter in the image and it’s hard to focus on a specific subject, yes?
thanks for the replies. I shot 3 bracketed shots. Any suggestions to how I can improve on my composition for the first shot?
thanks for the constructive C&C. Appreciate all the advice given
Yeah I probably should have exposed for the faces.
Thanks for the input
thanks for the advice. I tried that on the original file in PS and increasing the contrast through curves does give it a better kick.
Thanks Congo. It’s well worth getting down there just before sunrise. Does mean getting out of bed extra early :)
The colour from the first shot is directly from the camera. It’s completely natural. I shot into the sun using ND filters totaling 5 stops and this somehow has created the magenta tint. That was not added using photoshop or lightroom
brilliant suggestion Mark. Thanks for your comments
love this shot. The sky is extremely dramatic and really adds great atmosphere to the picture.
I cloned out the distracting weed in the picture
Thanks for the advice. I’ll try to clone it out in some way
that’s great advice.
One more question. My camera is a 20D and it has 9 AF points. I tend to just use the centre point for focusing.
Would it be useful to use Auto AF point selector for sports?
Sorry for the questions but I’m not very good at shooting sports and I would love to get better.
I was actually trying to achieve a silhouette but it didn’t quite work out the way I wanted.
Just as a matter of interest, is Servo focus mode always used in sports photos?
