Nice pictures, I like a lot its mood and light, very expressive. Interesting effect, but in my opinion it doesn’t work with these particular images. They would be great on their own and maybe another content could suit this effect better. Good work no matter what I say.
What a beautiful bunch of people you are – sister and brother! Nice shots, expressive. I love the dynamics of it. Slightly less tence expression on the first one would make it perfect. I can see how much effort it takes to get that look, he thinks too much about what he’s doing.
What if try a bit higher angle for the second one? Would it work what do you think?
Absolutely love what you’re doing Ali, look forward to see your next works!
Excellent, good work Ali. Technicaly perfect, nicely exposed, beautifuly composed and posed. Love the colours and background. The only thing is facial expression a bit hard/tence. Great work anyway, top class.
:D keep it up (i.e. a model mode) – it always looks attractive.
As for the high chins..Seriously it is not always a confidence sign but might be oposite – just nervousness of unexperienced model. Keep them comfy 8)
lowing chin will not always make face appearing less long – it might elongate face and especially nose + make a double chin as well.
It worked not bad in your case because you were shooting from low angle. Although model’s chin still looks a bit heavy, but this is really not an issue for this shot. I quite like the atmosphear of it and I prefer a colour version.
Air of confidence in models is not so bad too. Surprisingly enough some trivial poses like high chins and hands on hips always work in most cases :D
these ones look better meaning light (well done) and angle, especially a second shot. You see how lower angle and depth of field works? :)
Still good composition/arrangement should be done. This is a very tricky part..sometimes it takes days to get one right. Regular patterns often look boring..what if rotate an image a bit to give diagonal direction – might look attractive. I also would suggest to “clean up” some spots which might be destructive.
Wishing you a luck, keep up a food work :D
interesting technique, quite original. These particular pictures don’t work for me I’m afraid. I wish there is more happenning on the picture i.e model performance, more dynamic maybe (to match performance with technique). I don’t see image as a whole, there is no connection between content and technique. But I absolutely love your technique, originality and creativity.
Photographing food is quite challenging I must admit. Despite everything looks “simple” on the final picture, it is a hard work to get this look. So well done on trying it (at last somebody else interested in food).
As for your photographs…I see backlight there which is good. This will be all I’m afraid. There are much more should be done to achive that “tasty” and attractive look. This what is our goal, right?
I think you should work more and harder on composition (arrangement; there is no need always use a bunch of objects, one or two might be enough), shooting distance and angle (try low angle). It’ll take loads of time and patience. Lighting wise – make it cleaner and lighter when using light background. Those jellies can be quite confusing subject sometimes so it’s better to decide wether you go closer/abstract with nice colours and transparency or you let us know what it is (jellies). In that case using additional props can improve the picture.
Wishing you luck and expect to see new (improved) food pictures :)
