Really lovely image with a mystical quality to it. However I think a tighter crop on the bottom would make it look even nicer (but that’s just me). I think a crop just below the orange tinged shrubs on the left would look good. Really nice.

Now you see that was the dilema I had when interpretatinig “Still Life”. Is it something that still has life or is it what all “artists” would interpretat as a still life. It is up to the entrant to make their own choice surely and could not be disqualfied for taking a different meaning from the title. Or can they?

Phew! Some really fantastic shots in that lot glad I managed to get through them all though. Seems to be quite a lot of very keen, very good photographers entering. Best of luck everyone.

Thanks Mark for organising such a professional competition. Must have taken you quite some time.

I really like the mirror image idea. It brings a whole new interest to a shot. I also think changing something (no matter how small) on one side adds to the overall effect. For me the tree draws my eye to the centre where it looks like an owl’s face because of the mirroring.

    Hi Janine
This is a beautiful picture. It would make a beautiful print and I am sure the School would love a copy of it to put in their entrance to remind people of the bench in memory of the teacher.

Hi Gary, can’t help you much on the processing and stuff but I do know I like the shot.

This is one sharp shot with beautiful colours. Please tell me you used a tripod and it wasn’t hand held?

Love No.3. The whole set are very classy. I heard rice was banned wherever it is banned because the birds eat it and it swells inside them and wellllllll it’s not good for them. Terry

Congratulations Meo and well done to the runners up and all who entered. I feel like going out to save a dog myself after reading the story behind the pic. However, with a small house and a time share in a very LARGE Golden Retriever I couldn’t cope, something to think about in the future perhaps.
Well done again everyone and well deserved winners

Lovely shot. I couldn’t make up my mind about the foreground vegitation and still can’t. I like it either way even if it is a tad over saturated.

    Well taken

Wow this is a fantastic shot. It is super crisp. Well taken looks like you have top range equiptment. Still no matter how good the equiptment you got to have a good photographer on the other side of it.

    Regards
