The full moon rises behind Bray Head on a few occasions in the year, and it is a beautiful sight to see. It is difficult to get a clean photograph though, because of the amount of people that are usually around, plus the difficulties caused by light spill from the arcades, other businesses and streetlamps along the promenade.
This image works really well for me. The composition is excellent, using both the cloudscape and the street lighting on the waves to draw the eye to a minimalist placing of the moonrise and headland. On my screen, the file looks as though it might benefit from a graduated lightening the left hand side a very small bit to bring out the clouds just a bit more.

– I had the same dilemma some time back when I wanted to give a gift of some snaps that I took at a friend’s wedding to the happy couple. All I could find on Google were large order commercial products aimed at the corporate gift market. On the off chance, I asked in Eason’s, and they were able to show me a range of small gift boxes that were just perfect! It would be easy to personalise these with printed labels etc if necessary. (I gave the couple a memory stick, as I was more confident that it would work than the CD/DVD alternatives.)
There was an excellent exhibition of Curtis prints in the Gallery of Photography some years back. His life story is fascinating and would make a great bio-pic.
It’s a pity the book mentioned in the link is getting such mixed reviews on Amazon, but there are some excellent books about Curtis easily available at good prices.
