What version of iphoto are you using, and what version of mac osx have you?

Try this:
DRAG the jpeg onto the iPhoto icon and it should convert ( if needed ) and import correctly.

iPhoto will NOT IMPORT to a folder ! ( as in dragging onto the folder within iPhoto.

you may have to re-build the iPhoto database and renew permissions

nice subject…but its too busy!

the eye never leaves the foreground

its over processed , both in the sky and in the flowers

for its worth, IMHO , i cant tell what the subject of the pic is if its the tree then, its lost in translation. the sky pulls your eye up from the tree, then the foreground pulls your eye way down. all in all , while looking, at the pic, you miss the tree !!!

you’d wonder why they ran the dropwire to the kiosk, from the pole, when its so close to the exchange!
i would have put the public phone on the outside wall of the exchange……saved a couple of grand !!

just realised that the dropwire is the ESB supply to light the thing :oops:
