I see some people were interested in the post here so here is what ive found reguarding adding this type of products to your packages or service.
What did i find….Nothing nadda zippo.irish photographers do not seem to be interested in these products even if it can increase you package prices and possibly get you more clients.
Im ordering mine and i dont even do weddings….yet.
For me when i buy one its a choice From Calumet/Bowens/Lastolite and Lastolite for me is in first place at the moment especially with the elasticated backrounds and and equipment for the Photographer without an assistant.
Only problem is of the 3 mentioned each one has some good and bad points.
Why lastolite well a english photographer called Mark Cleghorn (site and books and vids) simply convinced me.
his books are worth a read look too.
If any one knows of a better site for lastolite prices let me know.
Studio lighting……drooL drooL towel please.. its such a pity that we have to resort to shop/site outside the country for a good deal and quality.
As for the Triggers for cannon/nikon its up to you depending for in studio triggers or camera cable release.
Its hard to find good videos there was one and Jim Sugar and american photographer who visited ireland in the 60s or so and his revisit to ireland and meets the childeren of the familys he meet in the 60s
It was on RTE player but i think its gone from the RTE server.
Yeah there is lots of factors that can affect uploads 1=Browser 2=Broadband speed 3=flicker traffic 4=The ammount of ram you have.
unfortunatly there is no certified solution to the flicker upload speed.
so you use the usb dongle to wifi connect.
if so that could be the problem as that will have to use a bandwith thats regulated higher than a home instalation the same goes for vodaphone and meteor and clearwire. and this can be effected by your location too but its still best to upload a few at a time or you could regulate the file size in post processing like in photoshop (save for web and manualy tweek the file size) i think picassa has something similar too.
Problem is this can effect quality but save upload speed and web space.
so its up to the uploader.
Well ive just accepted it as a Flicker upload problem and not with the connection,Eircom is my main broadband but also its the same with clearwire so id say its flicker’s problem.
Im based in Kells Co Meath and work in dublin and both areas with different providers have the flicker upload problem.
I have a 3 meg broadband and ive found that with flicker its best to download the java plugin seperate (depending on browser) i use firefox
And only upload say 4 or 5 at a time. especialy if they are maximum quality.
