Thanks so much for your feedback! I did the selective colour in photobucket and my hand wobbled ever so slightly along the edge!!!! I’m still not sure how to maintain sharpness throughout the whole object… i can either get the head perfectly sharp and the body slightly blurred or the other way around as with above. Any help on this would be great… i’m shooting with a canon1000 on tv with a standard 55 lense… any tips???
Thanks!!!
I’m not a pro so i can only give my opinion on how pleasing this image was to me….
Wow its really lovely…. it was a great winter for pictures i got a few cool (no pun intended lol) pics of some spiders webs and my washing line covered in frost…
All comments are welcome i’m still learning and want to be the best i can possibly be so any help is great, it was originally a colour picture but i changed it to black and white as i thought it was a bit nicer… can u suggect any way i could reduce the greyness a bit… i only used photobucket as am waiting to get photoshop (saving up!!!).
Yeah for some reason it simply would not let me post the bloody picture any biggerthen that and i resized it a ridiculous amount of times!!! my other pic in nature went up fine when resized so not sure what went wrong!!!!
Again thanks for the comment and any help is welcome…
Hahaha! Indeed it was taken through glass…. dirty glass at that!!!
Unfortunately I had very limited wiggle room so i just couldn’t get the focud on the eyes!!!!
Thanks for the compliment, as a photo it’s one of my favourites even out of focus!!!! Even still to me it looks a bit….. ah i dunno there is just something missing or maybe it is just the eyes!!!
Thanks though and just to let you know …. it’s my boyfriends snake!!!!
Hahahahaha good things come to those that wait!!!!
Ah ha i knew knew knew it had something to do with the white balance… hence the earlier question!!!! ….. and you thought i didnt read the manual…. little did you know i’m actually stupid enough that i didn’t actually understand what the manual said!!!!!
Indeed i do believe you press a button and spin a little wheel hahaha right… good stuff… i’ll play around a bit more…
They were taken around a year ago when i had just started to i think it would have been portrait mode on my canon 1000d and taken with the standard lense supplied.
The second one was actually supposed to be focused on the scales as we used that portion of the pic for our business card!!! Should have stated that alright from the start!!!
Here are a few more pics from that same shoot… i’m going to do a whole new shoot this week with all my new knowledge :D
This is fairly soft but just thought i’d pop it up so you can see the croc… she’s 4ft now!!!
Hahaha… i have indeed read the manuals… they are very helpful…
I know the iso ia to do with the sensitivity etc however i simply cant work out the blue tinge… and my manual so soes not explain that!!!!
although i have to say i was playing around with the iso while on tv mode and when i flicked back to amateur sports mode it had affected the lighting on that!!! Didn’t realise that would happen!!!
I have a few books and websites etc that i’ve been reading through… some of them seem like they are contradicting each other… mind you i am prob just picking it up wrong…
Hahahaha i have contact details however i’m not at liberty to divulge them!!!! Sorry!!!!
Thanks so much for the help… i’ll defo try out the AV mode… can you explain something to me? i tried using the TV mode and was trying ouy differnt iso’s to get the right colour… it had a bluish tinge on it no matter what i did!!!! Do i have to change the white balance as well as the iso?
The reason i’m still using the amateur mode for stuff like this is i’m just confident enough though i’ll never get there if i don’t keep practising!!!
The Glock is not real…. sorry!!!!! It’s a pellet gun!!!!! ha ha ha
Both the girls are on facebook if you eh… want to use them in eh… something…
Yup sports mode all the way
Although i had been playing with the TV mode that day too… :D
just couldn’t get the colour right, everything had a bluish tinge to it… not sure why…. :x  :?
It was natural light but i stood in the shadows and had the girls in the sunlight… The lens was the standard one i got with the camera…
I was using sports mode because the girls had been climbing up and down the steps and railings so i wanted as many shots as possible to get the best one… They were actually fairly quick pose and shoot shots!
I’m still learning the merits of AV, TV and RAW not too sure of myself where iso etc come in… just gotta keep reading those books hahaha!!!
It’s not a band it’s a rapper… his name is NOX… Nothing released yet…. Check himout on facebook… if rapping is your thing then he’s the guy… he has recently opened a modeling group including the two girls it’s called bad candy girls… i think he takes all the pics himself as he recently bought a 7d… these were taken with my 1000d while he was taking them with his 7d…
Mostly it was for practise for myself but he is using some of the pics!!!
#2 – i get you now with the soft… ha i was playing around with the iso and the lighting… still learning…
thanks so much for all the feedback… please have a look at my sports pic and my nature pics… i’m loving taking the pics but still have to figure out all the modes etc on the camera!
As a very very new beginner I have to say after reading the very… eh well over informative posts i was very put off about posting what i would consider stupid questions… i just bought a canon 70 – 300 lense…. you know why??? Cos i saw someone with a high vis branded vest on them at an event… it was special offer and i figured sure why not… having a wide variety of senses is not going to be a bad thing….
I vagely figured that the numbers related to the zoom but thats about it… wide angle, macro, micro…. not a clue….
So i’ll have to say to edg3… thanks for asking cos now i know too!!! Otherwise this is a forum for those who want to learn and share and grow… C & C is great but not in a nasty way…
Ok as i’m very new to this i’m not to top on the abbreviations… So first can ya tell me what DOF is!
Ok so the shoot was for a friend of mines new album… ha ha they are defo chicks with tude alright!!!!
I’m not too sure what soft is so could you explain what you mean…
As regards to setup… again… not sure what you mean! But i think i used the sports mode on the camera and just shot… no adjustments or anything cos i’m still very unsure how to use the camera!!!
Please do let me know if i should be using a different setup etc..
