We are getting more excited as we get closer to departing. We arrive Sunday 29th May, just over a week away now. We will be spending Sunday through to Tuesday in Cork, then making our way up the West coast and by the following Saturday will be in Cavan. Hope to get some good photos and enjoy the Irish hospitality.

Thank you to Kev who pm’ed us, and to Phillip for pointing us to his amazing Flickr site. You have increased our excitement level over visiting Cork, it looks to be a stunning area. We plan on visiting Shronebeha and Banteer while in Cork, as this is where my O’Neill/Foley ancestors originated from , so hope to find something interesting around that area.

We would love to hear from others who may be able to help with the photography part of our journey, as I am sure Clare (Glasha for our family history part) and Cavan (Virginia and Bailieborough for the Family History part) and surrounds have some lovely spots too.

Thank you for your warm welcomes. We are sure we will have a great time in Ireland, walking the same ground as our ancestors did, and photographing your stunning scenery.
We have looked at a lot of photo’s on your forum and are very impressed. The biggest problem is we need our Ireland map closeby, so we can work out where some of these places are, but that is the fun of it all.

    Hi Jenny
Aren’t these the most interesting boulders. There are so many and all different. It doesn’t look like your weather was the best, but our weather when we were there was attrocious. Huge winds and churning water. We werent game to take too many photo’s, for fear of ruining our camera’s.

I like the way you have captured the spray in this shot.

A lovely shot with good foreground interest and beautiful soft colour.
