Thanks for all the sound advice.

Martin: Sounds like the best option keeping the camera and lens in hand all the time

Hopefully I’ll have something that resembles a decent picture to post in a few days
    Ciao

I think I’ll take the camera and as every1 said, just keep a watchful eye out for dodgy characters

And thanks for the restaurant Gizzo, I heard you have to go away from the tourist area’s to get good food

I’ve seen some great pic’s here and I’m not sure a borrowed Cybershot will live up to expectations…

Lovely picture Rob, I was just driving over that road on Friday evening when the sun was going down. The sky had a lovely orange glow to contrast the dark clouds.
Just a pity it was gone by the time I made it home to collect the camera :(

So Thorsten, you reckon go for the glass 1st and then worry about the monitor again ?
I already posted in the beginners section about a shopping list I had. I won’t repeat it all but I’m just trying to find out what order to purchase stuff in ..
As in tripod, lenses, battery grip, flashgun, A4 printer

    Sorry to hijack this thread
randomway – except that 20 inch is not too much if you are using PS or such.

I was planning on upgrading my computer and moniter aswell. But I was thinking about the 20″ Dell Widescreen SIPS. Does this mean that I’d be wasting my time or what ? Bear in mind, I’m only starting out and it’ll be Elements 6 I’ll be using

Is there really that much difference between the 430 and the 580 ?

    Thanks lads, all sound advice.

Paul: I think the poor credit card is still in the freezer since xmas … the missus can shop 4 Ireland
Steelydan: I was thinking about the Lowepro 300 sling bag just to carry a few bits in. I don’t intend on hawking everything round at the same time. With these 3 weddings and the bike racing starting back in April I think the battery pack might be high on the list.
Allinthemind: would the 430 flashgun be ok to use at the likes of weddings, etc ?
