Hehe and just as I press Submit I notice the doll on the pink car ‘staring’ at the person. It almost looks as if she wants to draw him into the fun!! ;)

    I do like this one.
The crop is right, maybe get a bit more off the top.
But I like the fact that he look so ‘dark’ and ‘out of place’ in such a colourfull happy picture.
Even though there’s a lot going on in this picture (..what you expect..it’s taken at a fun fare.. puck?) my eye is drawn to this ‘out of place’ person. Think if you would have been slightly later and the blue car would have been behind him, it wouldn’t have worked so well. But his dark jumper in front of the pink car works fine.

I’m just reading back in old posts, and very curious now about how this project ended? Did you get your project the way you wanted it?

Thanks for the comment deebo, I’ll give that a try! I must say I tried it before to let the green pop more, however didn’t seem to get it right. The green on the left is the ‘original’ green. the right hand side is the reflection of it in the water. somehow the contrast between the two looked not right with more saturation (or is it higher saturation??) to it.

Thank you Ken. Wasn’t sure about posting it cause i’m relatively new to that here, but even the one comment makes it worth that. ;)

Number 2 for me as well! The colours on this one are great. They look… kind of …. Surreal…. (forgive my poor use of words, i’m trying but still a foreigner  )
    Great feel to it.

I really like the sun coming through on the first one but I prefer the colours of the second one.

Thanks for the comments. I can see where you are coming from with the punchier colours.

I have this unexplainable thing for shallow DOF though, but I can see what you mean. It could show more of the delicious fruits ;)

Oh for me that would def. be the colour one.
The colours make her look more angelic (a picture doesn’t show the ‘handfull side’ to her.. altho the eyes say it all!), the picture looks softer in colour.

For me as an outsider and no emotional connection to the little girl in the picture, I keep being drawn to her feet and the way the dress floats around it. This is much nicer in the colour one as well.

Now parents of this lovely wee boy please don’t hurt me, but… Looking at the title it’s about the gentle hands.

I love the contrast of the small fluffy bird, the clean and still unworn hands of the child and the older worn hands of the (i think) man?
Think this would be a real strong picture if you crop around the hands and the little bird a bit more.
Ok it wouldn’t belong that much in category ‘People’ anymore I suppose but I think it will be a picture full of emotion if you focus on those “Gentle hands” even more by cropping more. For me i’m drawn to that sweet look on the child’s face which takes away from the title of the pic.

Throw in some black and white and you have some picture! ;)

I absolutely love this picture. It’s one of those pics that you look at. You look away. And you go back to look at it again and again and everytime you look at it you see something different. Different lines, different colours… It’s fab!

I absolutely love the close up!
The colours, the movement in the hair.
Can’t point out something specific, the pic has a great feel to it.

    Hi Charlie,

I really like this picture. Love the way the dress flows around her feet, gives it a very fairy like feel to the picture.
You say you’re not sure to print it mono or colour. Do you have a mono version of it you’re thinking of printing? Love the soft colours of the picture so curious to see what feeling it would leave if it’s mono.

Very nice picture tho. Something to be proud of. And isn’t Katie lucky with a granddad to take these kind of pictures of her! ;)

I kind of like the big bit of road in the bottom; It gives this feeling of loneliness.
He really is the only one walking there and the big empty road.

I think it blends well with the ‘eerie’ fog.
