You had a very productive morning down there Ras. Fine images in your 3 posts. In my opinion you definately dont need the moon in these shots. Its so small and undefined that it could be interpreted as a flaw.
Nice shot John, Sky is great. Something is a bit awkward about the whole image but im not sure what..Possibly brightening the lower half of the image.. I know the stones are there in the foreground but they are a bit lost in shadow. Still good for me as it is though.
Thanks for comments and suggestions.
Paul: A friend sails down that way for two weeks every year. I usually join him for a few days. I talked it up for a while as something we really have to see at dawn.
I saw a sign somwhere in Baltimore for arranged sunset excursions depending on numbers. Probably depends a lot on the weather too. That day was calm but the swells out there are still big.
Nice image. I could get over the saturated greens if the sky was brighter to match it. Looks a bit underexposed compared to the greens on this side of the river.
Thanks for all the comments everyone. I cropped the third one and did a bit of dodging and burning. I will have to come back to it another time to see if the crop works better for me, but I do think the dodging and burning is an improvement.
A bit more contrast in the sky would improve this image. Its a nice structure but the newish house is distracting. If you shoot this again I would try to leave it out. Maybe cropping a third off the right up to the end of the white of the house would be better?
Hi Vincent,
I have come to realise that capturing good light is not always enough so I have started to take my time a bit more lately. Trying to see rather than just look at I suppose it is.
Cheers
