Beautiful pictures,
number one my favourite, would a tighter crop at the bottom be interesting? a bit more minimalistic look? a square crop could almost work may be …
very nice anyway.
the most famous in my area is “the plassey” wreck on the eastern coast off Inisheer Island in county Clare. probably the most photographed shipwreck in the country.
Beautiful , as usual Gary.
if i may, may be i would slightly darken the blue sky at the top, in order to help the eye towards the lovely natural lighting following the river, but i am just being picky.
well done.
HI ,
i won’t citicise your picture, i just wanted to congratulate you on the way you take criticism.
we have all been there, trying hard to get better at landscape photography.
and whatever our level is, there is always room for improvement, in fact we are all learning .
But if i may write a few tips:
As a general rule, try to stick to the basic rules of composition , they can greatly help getting good pictures.
when you are good enough, you can then break these same rules to become more creative, but they are a good place to start.
also try to be picky about what you include in your pics: there is a saying that landscape photography is more about what’s not included in the picture , than what’s in it. a way to say that sometimes less is more….( avoid building fences and power lines for example).
finally , you’ll rarely get good pictures from a bedroom window, or from inside a car while travelling. if you think the light is good , get your gear and get out in order to find the best spot to take your shots. ( and in low light always use a tripod).
Just a few tips… you probably knew all this already. :)
good luck with it , and keep posting.
philippe.
Very nice picture,
i love the reflections and the color tones. just watch the cropping in order to avoid cutting boats in two maybe.
well done.

Hi John ,
great shot as usual. if i was looking for something to say, on the composition side, i would have liked those rocks on the bottom left leading to the sun on the top right. but that’s just me being very very picky.
well done .
by the way what strength ND and exposure time were you using to get blurry water and the shape of a wave at the same time?
