    Hi Noel,

I like this. When I looked at this first of all I thought there was some sort of divide with the “Happy Campers” on the left hand side.

As a “left of field” thought, is there anything to be explored by cropping just below the seat of the chair on the left HS?

Thus, leaving a line of marching legs (incuding some wooden ones!). I wouldn’t be a great advoacte of street photography without people’s faces but I have been looking at a few scenarios where I think this works well.

    Cheers,

    Liam.

    Hi John,

Thanks for the advice and encouragement – much appreciated – looking back, I can’t believe I missed that sloping bench!

    Cheers,

    Liam.

Thanks for posting this James7. I’ve not seen this video before.

I grew up in Liverpool in the seventies and I saw something about this on another site, I believe there is an exhibition on at the Tate Gallery in Liverpool (which I’ve pencilled in for my next trip home!).

Seemingly, the photographer went back and photographed the same people and someone said “It’s like you’ve never been away”.

Great stuff Gerry. Thanks for sharing these. I’d agree with earlier comment “love to see these in a gallery”.

Like the composition in #1. Is this outside the new court?

Like both shots but I personally think they’d be better if we could see their eyes.

Thanks for taking the time to comment lads. I have a bit of experimenting with shutter speeds ahead of me!

    Cheers.

Good set. #2 would be my favourite. Also really liked #4 there’s a bit of grain in it that gives it a timeless look.

Okay Thanks Covey. Really appreciate your feedback. Some very useful pointers.

#1 – I was waiting for the shot but I guess it just didn’t work – next time maybe.

#2 – Okay, need to look at Documentary, looks like I’m combining it with street.

#3 – Yes. It is a crop, is this a schoolboy error? Should I go for wider to give more of a feel?

    Thanks again.

I like this shot, so many questions: Where, Why, Who? Are they looking at google maps for the address to a fancy dress party?
And What are the people in the background waiting for? or coming away from?

The colour really makes it (as well as the movement of the limo behind them!).

Thanks for the feedback Martin. Yes, I should have cropped the crane, the old adage “if it’s not adding to the image then it’s taking away from it”.
