Not much to say really. Shot the first 2 pictures with a Canon 5D and a 50mm lens.
The third picture was taken with a Canon 7D and still a 50mm lens.

    Nice set..

I like the mood in the first one with the brooding sky
In the 2nd shot I really like the depth in the greens nestled into the grey irish sky/sea
Not sure about the 3rd one… I usuall like this kind of colour but I find it a bit off-putting in this shot for some reason.. looks v harsh

    Great work :)

Love the 1st two PM especially the B&W, also like the Border and the “Lost Soul” reference on the horizon is fitting. The sky in the 3rd is a bit harsh for me. Maybe an ND grad might have balanced the light / colur a bit better??

    Thank you for the feedback.
I’m still questioning the borders on the first 2 pictures. I find them a bit big although the initial thought was to generate a square. Still working on them. The third picture is converted from raw to jpg and that’s it. The colors are strong indeed but I can’t find a way to rework the picture properly without altering it too much.

Donnybrook is a winner for me. :D

I normally don’t like super saturated color, but I really like how you captured this one. It has grit.

The color on the street bothered me so I scrolled to crop off some of the bottom = completely different and the color works as is.

My crop would be just above where the curb hits the left side. Crop up until the trash goes away. That also takes away the patched pavement.

When I step back from the screen, as it would hang, the two bright lights could be just a little less bright.

I love the sun flare. The image draws me there. If you change the color, leave the sun flare.

Sorry but after writing the above, I realize that may not be at all what you saw.

I’ll give it a try. A square on that one could work.

    Patrice,

I’m just one novice, but that’s what I saw when making my suggestions. So for me it’s a keeper. I’d be very proud to have it on my wall.

The sun was really harsh that day and, for me, it balances with the calm grey in the foreground.

The stars on the street lamps create a nice dissonance with the flare/glare of the setting sun. What lens created those stars? What’s the proper name for them?

The sum of your darkroom work was crop/dodge/burn, so even the purists should be happy. :)

    Hi Ted,

I used a Canon EF 50mm f1.8 mkII for this shot. And besides the crop, no major rework (played a bit with curves). ;)
